I love me some blush and or bronzer so I thought I would share a few of my favourite products! I have a fairly decent collection but these are the ones in constant rotation.
Isn’t this such a pretty picture? Such beautiful pink blushes! These four I would say are my absolute favourite, they never fail me. The first one has been on my cheeks a lot over the last month it is The Balms Instain Long Wearing Powder Blush in Toile. The colour payoff from this blush is unbelievable! It is highly highly pigmented which means you have to be slightly careful with your application but it is totally worth it. Also for such a bright colour it actually gives a very natural flush to the cheeks – if you are careful with it, I have been known to come out with clown cheeks occasionally. Second is Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic in Love Glow this is also a gorgeous blush, Charlotte Tilbury makes so darn good cheek products! It is very finely milled so it feels extremely smooth on the skin, it is a beautiful peachy pink colour with a slight gold shimmer. I don’t always use this directly on the apples of my cheeks as the shimmer can make my skin a little too shimmery which can look like I have shiny skin. Next up is Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Amused, as we don’t have Sephora in Australia yet I picked this up in Malyasia when I was there over Christmas. I have to say I used this for months after I purchased it! It is such a bright true pink that you would imagine wouldn’t be natural but trust me it is. It is a very dense hard powder which means your brush doesn’t pick up a huge amount of product, I think this is what allows it to be a natural flush on your cheeks. Finally we have Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, I purchased this one after watching it featured in many Lauren Curtis tutorials. It is such a lovely peachy colour with a gold shimmer through it, I use this a lot when I just want a subtle youthful glow over my cheeks.
These are my only two cheek palettes I own and they are both pretty darn good. The first one is the Sleek Face Form in Light, I’ve mentioned the bronzer from this palette in a previous post and it is a fabulous affordable bronzer. It is matte which I love and isn’t too orange so it looks natural on your skin. I haven’t really given the blush a good go yet but it definitely reminds me of the Nars Orgasm blush with the gold shimmer through it so I’m sure I will love it. This palette is great as it’s got all you need for your cheeks plus it is very compact, I am definitely going to take this with me when I go overseas in November! The second palette is the Nars Adult Content Cheek Palette, I’m not sure whether this is limited addition but the colours are also available individually. The colours aren’t written on the back of the palette but from what I can guess the peachy colour is Deep Throat, a subtle colour which is very flattering during the day or if you have a dramatic eye or lip situation going on. The bright pink shade is Desire, I used to be obsessed with this one back in the day! Such a bright beautiful colour, I think I might have to bring this one back into use. The brown shade is Zen I use this for contouring as it is a little lighter than a bronzer, it looks very natural. Finally there is a highlighter, I’m not a huge fan of this one it has quite a lot of big chunks of glitter which looks very noticeable to the skin.
Finally onto the bronzer! First off is Bobbi Brown All Over Bronzing Gel in Desert Sun, I have only just rediscovered this and used it on a recent night out. It is a little scary when you squeeze it out of the tube but it blends effortlessly. The NYX Powder Blush in Taupe is technically a blush however, I used it exclusively for contouring. For fair ladies like me this is a perfect alternative for dark bronzers, I am especially pale in winter so this has been getting a real workout lately. Last but not least it is the much hyped about Nars Laguna. This completely lives up to the hype! It is the perfect shade as it isn’t to orangey and isn’t too cool toned, I would say this is my favourite bronzer above all and it gets used practically every day!
What do you think of my collection? Can you suggest any for me to add to it?

It was one of my lovely friends birthdays on Saturday night so we headed out to dinner and a night on the town to celebrate! I thought I would share with you what I used for my makeup look. Starting with base and face. I forgot to include my primer in this picture but I used Benefits Porefessional which keeps my makeup in place all night. I then used Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk foundation in the shade 4.5, this foundation is beautiful! I always use this when I’m headed out for the night, it is extremely long lasting and gives your skin a lovely dewy glow. Now I’ve been having a few late nights and early mornings so my dark under eye circles were on a whole other level! My secret weapon to cover my extreme dark circles is Napoleon Perdis The One Concealer this is a very peachy coloured concealer that seriously conceals anything! I combine this with my pretty grubby looking Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in the Shade Light, this is the only combination that completely covers my dark circles without looking like cake central. For the rest of my concealing I used the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Classic Beige. I recently rediscovered the beauty that is Bobbi Brown All Over Bronzing Gel in Desert Sun, this is a bronzing gel that really warms your skin up in summer but I also use it for contouring which I did on Saturday night. It looks slightly scary when you squeeze it out of the tube but once you blend it in it looks very natural with just a slight touch of shimmer. As I have oily skin I have to set my foundation with a powder and I recently purchased the MUA Matte Perfect Loose Translucent Powder, this has done a really fantastic job of mattifying my t-zone as well as aiding my foundation in lasting a lot longer. For blush and highlighter I could not go past my latest purchases from The Balm, I used the Instain Long Wearing Powder Blush in Toile and the Mary Lou Manizer, these two products are definitely long lasting on a night out!
For my eyes I used the Sleek I-Diving Palette in Oh So Special, I used the coppery bronze colour, top third from the right, all over my eyelid. Then I used the brown matte, bottom third from the right, in my crease and finished it off with the dark matte brown colour on the outer corner of my eye and on my bottom lash line. I made a thin line across my top lash line with the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Line in Black then smudged it a little with dark matte brown eyeshadow. For mascara I couldn’t go past Benefit They’re Real Mascara. This mascara does not budge which I’m sure many of you would know when it comes to trying to remove it! Finally I used the dark matte brown colour from the Sleek palette to fill in my brows. I forgot to include the lipstick I used for this look but as it was quite a dark smokey eye I used my trusty NYX Matte Lipstick in Audrey. I really enjoyed this look and it was lots of fun do and I’ve got to tell you even after dancing the night away I still looked quite presentable, no panda eyes in sight!

I absolutely love wearing deep and dark shades on my nails in the winter months, in fact I often wear them in summer too. What a rebel! So when I found this deep red colour (it is a deeper shade in real life) whilst doing some shopping on Adore Beauty I knew I had to add it to my collection. I had seen the brand Nails Inc pop up on a few beauty blogs and Vivianna Does Makeup had raved about this brand’s shade Porchester Square so I knew it must be worth a go. This shade is Kensington High St and is part of their Gel Effect range which is supposed to give you a high shine super glossy finish without the UV light. This was a big promise but my gosh did it pay off! The finish of this is definitely as promised leaving a high shine and glossy finish, although I did still use a top coat but I believe it would have been sufficient without one.
This polish also lasts an extremely long time without chipping, This photo was taken after a full week of wearing it and there is only a slight chip on my index finger, who doesn’t want this kind of long lasting nail polish?! Finally, the last brilliant thing about this nail polish is that you do not need to return to the salon to get it removed, it comes off easily with nail polish remover. Bonus! So another great nail polish to add to my collection and I think it’s safe to say this one will be on my nails for quite a while.

NYX Matte Lipstick – Audrey (MLS20)
Following on from my last post I thought I would share with you my favourite drugstore lipsticks. Apart from my beloved Nars lip pencils, I mainly own and use drugstore lipsticks. I mean some of them are absolutely brilliant, they can be extremely affordable with a huge range of beautiful shades. Plus given that they are affordable it means you can buy more! Well that’s certainly my motto anyway.
I thought I would begin with Revlon ColourBurst collection. I love this collection, they have some stunning shades and they all have great colour payoff. In Australia Revlon isn’t considered especially cheap and is definitely one of the higher priced drugstore brands, but that has not stopped me from owning a few of the Balm Stains and when Revlon introduced their Matte Balms I thought that god had answered my prayers!. The first one I have chosen is the Matte Balm in Showy, this a beautiful bright pink that is absolutely stunning in summer or a bright pop of colour during these dull winter months. I love the Matte Balms because they are beautifully pigmented and they feel creamy and weightless on the lips. No dry old lips after using these! The second lipstick I chose is on of Revlon’s Balm Stains in Cherish. Now I do not suit nude lipsticks at all, they just completely wash me out so this is the perfect shade for me when I want a fuss free lip. It’s a subtle pink that just adds a pop of colour and brightens my face up.
Next up is the Lasting Finish by Kate Moss. I would have to say that matte finishes are my favourite, if you couldn’t tell, and these are a creamy long lasting matte finish which is the perfect combination. The first colour is 110, this is an orangey red shade which I wear a lot and is fabulous all year round. I often use this if I couldn’t be bothered doing much with my eyes but still want to look as if I have made an effort. The second colour is 107, this is a deep scarlet red that looks stunning at night. It is a real statement colour that looks very sophisticated which is why I love it.
Finally I have chosen NYX Matte Lipstick in Audrey. This has become my go to lipstick for the past couple of weeks, as I said I don’t suit nudes so this is a perfect day time pink shade that can act as a nude for me. I cannot wait to get my hands on some more of these lipsticks, they are extremely affordable at six dollars a pop so I can definitely see a few more added to my collection in the future.
I have doubled up a little which I apologise for but these are honestly my favourite drugstore lipsticks and I think you might like them too!
I thought I might do a few more favourite posts in the future so please leave some feedback if you would like to see more!

Top to Bottom – Red Square, Cruella, Never Say Never, Damned
As I’ve mentioned previously Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are my absolute favourite lip product! So I’ve chosen a few of my favourites, I did have more but I have a feeling my mother has been raiding my stash. The first one I ever bought was Red Square, its is a bright orange red which is my favourite kind of red. This is such an eye catching colour that I just keep my eyes very simple just using plenty of mascara and a nice bronzed glow on my skin. The second one down is another red, Cruella. This is a true scarlet red, I tend to leave this one for special occasions because it is a very dramatic colour. Again I keep the rest of my face and eyes very simple so that my lips really stand out. Never Say Never is a pink lilac which is a great colour all year round. I’ve been wearing this a lot lately because it adds a great bit of colour without being overly dramatic. This colour looks fantastic with the dusty pink eyeshadows in the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, as I said in my What I’ve Been Wearing This Week post this has been my go to look at the moment. Finally Damned is a rich magenta colour. This is stunning! As it’s winter in Australia I’ve been rocking this a lot on nights out. It is such a rich beautiful colour for this time of year that I just can’t go past it.
L – R Red Square, Cruella, Never Say Never, Damned
The formula of these is very creamy for such a matte lipstick so it doesn’t try your lips out at all! I honestly can’t tell you how amazing these lipsticks are. Do yourself a favour and go and buy one now!!
Let me know if you can suggest any other colours to add to my collection!

As I was doing my daily trip through the beauty blogs I found a great little quiz on Primped entitled ‘What Does Your Makeup Say About You? – What Is Your Makeup Personality?’ It only takes a few seconds to complete and it’s just a little bit of fun!
Here is the link to the Quiz: http://primped.ninemsn.com.au/makeup/quiz-what-does-your-makeup-say-about-you
I got Trend Setter! I think thats pretty accurate for me, I like to try a lot of different styles and rarely stick to the same look.
What was your result? Let me know in the comments section!
I have heard so much about these two products from The Balm I thought it was about time I gave them a go. I don’t actually own many powdered highlighters so I desperately wanted to try the Mary-Lou Manizer. This is a beloved product among the beauty community and now I know why, it is a beautiful shimmer that is very finely milled so there are no large chunks of shimmer. I would say this a subtle shimmer so it looks quite natural which is lovely. No disco balls going on here!
Mary-Lou Manizer and Instain Long Wearing Blush in Toile
The second product is the Instain Long Wearing Staining Powder in Toile. Wowzer this blush is pigmented! No wonder they call it a stain! The first time I used it I definitely felt a clown vibe going on, but once I got used to using a small amount of product I really enjoyed it. In the photo it looks like a bright red however, it is definitely a peach shade which is beautiful. Also if you want a product that lasts all day, this is it.
I would definitely recommend these products! Plus they are quite economical, they are both highly pigmented so they will last for ever! Just another reason to go out and buy them!
I also just want to make a quick apology for the less than brilliant quality of the photos. It’s a very overcast day so the lighting was not ideal.
