I haven’t been wearing makeup a lot this week but when I have this has been my go to look. It’s nice and light look for daytime which I could just add a little eyeliner to take it to a night look. I’ve been using Benefit Porefessional to keep my oily skin and large pores in check, then I use the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet which is a favourite of mine at the moment. For concealer, I recently purchased the Napoleon Perdis One Mighty Concealer Pen in Pink Beige, this doesn’t completely cover my dark circles but it’s been doing the job for now. For cheeks I’ve rediscovered Milani Baked Powder Blush in Luminoso, this is absolute perfection! It gives a beautiful subtle glow whilst adding a lovely peachy flush to the checks.
Now to the fun stuff! On my eyes I have been using the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I use burnout, a light shimmery pink, over the lid then I place nooner, a matte dusty rose, in the crease. Then for a little bit of drama I smudge blackheat, black with a pink shimmer, along the lash line. Don’t be afraid of the pink shimmer, with the tiny amount I use you cannot see it. I’ve gone back the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara in Black. I find this mascara can be a little wet, I love the effect once it has dried out a little but initially it seems to clump my eyelashes together. When I begin a new one of these I tend to wipe off any excess with a tissue which seems to work. For brows I’ve been going quite simple I just brushed through a little Benefit’s Gimme Brow in Light/Medium. I love this product by itself or to set my filled in brows, it fills in any sparse areas as well as keeping them in place.
I finished off my look with the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Never Say Never. I don’t actually want to admit how many of these lip pencils I own! If I do it will just make me aware of how much money I spent on all of them! They are however, my absolute lipstick nirvana and who can say no to nirvana.
Confession time…I went a little crazy on the old shopping front last week, I think starting the blog gave me an excuse to do some serious shopping! So I started at net-a-porter and purchased two Charlotte Tilbury products. Then I headed into town to grab another Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and finally I wanted to try the raved about Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation.
I’ll start with the Charlotte Tilbury products. All I can say is, I am in love! I purchased the Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blusher in the shade Love Glow, this powder is so creamy and so pigmented that it just glides onto your skin leaving a heavenly flushed glow. The shade, although it looks slightly dark, is very natural and the gold shimmer give a nice sheen on your cheeks without being to0 ‘blingy’. I also bought one of her famous Rock ‘N’ Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Barbarella Brown. This honestly feels like a liquid liner, it glides on so easily without any dragging at all! I purchased the barbarella brown because I like to use a lighter colour on a day to day basis and this is such a long lasting, pigmented chocolate brown colour which I just cannot get enough of!

I went into town last week to do, you guessed it, more shopping! I repurchased the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 4.5. I’m sure you have all heard so much about this foundation and it does not disappoint the hype. This is the one foundation that can give my skin a glow without making my skin look shiny. I have some seriously oily skin and this doesn’t make my skin overly shiny at all and it lasts all day and night, what more could you ask for in a product?! This will definitely continue to be a staple in my beauty repertoire. Finally I purchased the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet in 20 Beige. This foundation really does give a velvet finish to your skin, it makes it feel so silky smooth you just want to keep touching your smooth face. As I said before I have oily skin so this works well as it keeps the oil at bay however, it doesn’t have the lasting power that the luminous silk has. I also enjoy the lightness of this foundation, it feels like you not wearing any at all which I love. Plus I am a total sucker for that Chanel sent they use in their products, I can’t get enough of it!!
Altogether I am seriously happy with my purchases. I think they will definitely get a workout in the months to come.
This little beauty is the ALPHA-H Instant Facial with Cypress and Barley. The idea behind this product is to get the effect of a microdermabrasion or peel from home which is perfect if you don’t want to visit the salon every month. Now I’ve been lovingly blessed with oily, open pored, red skin with some dry patches thrown in at winter for good measure – lucky me right? This product actually fixes a lot of these problems! I’ve been using this for three weeks now and I can truly notice the difference. The texture of my skin has dramatically changed, it is ten times softer than before and even the redness and visibility of pores have been reduced. I have not been able to say this about a lot of skin care products I have tried over the years so you can understand why I am calling it the holy grail of skincare!
Currently I am using this both morning and night, I spray a generous amount of the product onto a cotton pad and swipe it over my face and neck. It explains that for a more intensive treatment to not follow up with a serum or moisturiser, in winter I find this a little hard to do, my skin feels far to dry to not follow up with a moisturiser. In summer I may just use this product without a moisturiser but I will keep you posted.
So now you know why I am loving this product! Overall my skin has changed dramatically and have been able to easily integrate it into my everyday skincare routine, this will definitely be repurchased in the future.

This is my first post and I am very excited! I thought I would begin with a few fun little items I purchased recently from Crush Cosmetics.
These purchases were definitely a result of some major procrastination from studying for exams and I could not be happier with the results! The eyeshadow palette is from Sleek Makeup in Oh So Special, this is a particular favourite of mine at the moment, I love the combination of shimmer and matte shades that compliment each other perfectly. Although I’m normally not a fan of pink or peach eyeshadow, combined with the matte brown shades they look divine.
The second palette is also from Sleek Makeup, it is their Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette in Light. The bronzer is actually fantastic, it is a matte formulation which is great for contouring and as the blush is quite shimmering it allows you to use the whole palette without looking like a disco ball. I think this will be the perfect product to for travelling as well, its compact and has all the products you need for bronzing, blush and highlighting in one handy palette!
Like many people I hate cleaning my brushed! It is a chore that I always leave till my brushes are pretty filthy. I recently read a review of the Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser so I thought I would give it a go. So basically it is a round disk of soap, it doesn’t sound like anything special but it works brilliantly. All you need to do is wet the soap and your brush and swirl it around until there is not more makeup left on the brush. Easy as that! Plus it leaves your brushes smelling amazing. When this runs out I will definitely be repurchasing.
Finally, I purchased the NYX Powder Blush in Taupe. I had heard that this product was fantastic for contouring on fair skin and it is! During winter I am very fair so normal bronzers can be a little dark for me when contouring, this taupe shade adds a light contour that looks natural by just adding a slight shadow underneath the cheek bones perfect for those fairer dames like me.
I hope you enjoyed my first post! I can assure you I will continue to procrastinate and continue to do some major purchasing!
