I’ve been hearing a lot about Korean skincare lately and I’ve been doing some research on the kind of products they use everyday. Something that really struck me was the importance of toners and essences so this really made me want to try it out. I went to beautynetKorea to see what I could get my hands on.
I’m currently quite happy with my cleanser and moisturiser so I really wanted to try a new toner and a new serum. Now my skin type is combination/oily yet in winter I get some dry patches along my jawline that is really not attractive when my makeup clings to it! So I was looking for something that would hydrate those areas yet wouldn’t make my make me look really shiny with makeup on. I spotted the Secret Key Rose Floral Softening Toner – this promises to soften the skin which I though would be perfect to soften up this icky dry patches and hydrate the skin without the abrasiveness of a lot of toners. This toner is really beautiful and refreshing, it refreshes the skin whilst adding some moisture to the skin. I’ve been using this for about a month now and I really think its working! I use this after I wash my fine and it has been leaving my skin nice and soft as well as plump. Next I heard about the popularity of essences, this is a water substance that has a shed load of transforming properties and will add brightness and clarity to your skin, what’s not to love about that? This is the Tony Moly Intense Care – I use this one straight after the toner. I love these two products because they are super moisturising yet it doesn’t feel like you have a thousand products on your face, they are so thin that it just feels like you have splashed your face with water. After this step I use the Deep Sea Marine Collagen Ampoule – this is a type of serum that is super concentrated and is full of all the good stuff. This particular one offers a collagen boost as well a a lot of hydration, this again is a beautifully thin substance so I use this morning and night and it doesn’t add any greasiness to my skin. This ampoule literally plumps up my skin on touch, I can noticeably see the difference when I am applying it, it clears the skin by smoothing it out and just adds some supple plumpness giving me a very youthful look. At night I put this on after the essence and before my hydroluron and night cream.
Now as these products were pretty darn cheap I wasn’t convinced that they were going to do anything spectacular to my skin however, I can now eat my words! Over the past month my skin has been looking better and better, it is really well hydrated, super plump from the ampoule and it has a lot more clarity to it. I still do have a bit of redness but my skin in general is much clearer and has a much better look and texture. I honestly think I am now a convert to Korean skincare, they definitely know what they are doing!

I have to admit I am a bit of a brush addict, just like everything else involved in beauty I have to have them all! So I thought I would share with you my eye brush essentials. I can do any look I want with these brushes whether it be simple or a complicated smokey look.
To start off with its the most versatile brush of them all! It’s the MAC 217 – the holy grail of the blending world, I use this every single day and every single look I do. On a day to day basis I use this to deposit a a wash of eyeshadow over the entire lid and sometimes I just leave it at that. I also use this to do a very diffused shading in the crease for an very natural look. Next up is the Zoeva 224 Luxe Defined Crease – I use this little one for when I want a bit more of a defined crease, its a very little and soft brush that deposits are fair whack of colour in the crease, I can also really pinpoint where I want the colour to go. The Sigma E40 Tapered Blending Brush – This solves all my blending issues, its a wonder tool in my eyes. I mainly use this brush in two ways, firstly I sweep across a transition shade in the crease or secondly to blend everything seamlessly once I have finished an eye look. This brush just makes both of these things so incredibly easy. Next up is the Zoeva 231 Luxe Petit Crease Brush – I use this brush to really define my crease, if I want to use a dark shade to just add a bit more definition in the crease this is my go to brush. I also use this for any colour that’s going on my lower lash line and it makes blending under there a synch! This is perfect for highlighting the tear duct as well. The Nars Smudge Brush – does exactly what it is called, smudges the hell out of everything! I use this to smudge any eyeliner that I put on my top lash line with just a few sweeps of this brush you get the perfect ‘lived in’ eyeliner look. It’s also perfect for the same thing on the lower lash line. Finally the brush that we all need for the perfect winged liner, the Sigma E65 Small Angle Brush – I really love this small liner brush, its nice and fine which allows me to have a lot more precision when I’m doing my liner. Its quite a stiff brush as well so there is very little bending or movement from the brush which can be detrimental to any liner look!
So there you have it my essential eye brushes. Can you suggest any brushes I may need to add to my collection?

As a beauty addict I have so many products that it’s inevitable that I forget about some products and that some just find their way to the back of my draw. So the other day I went digging for products that I haven’t used for a long time and need to be back in my beauty life!
To start with its the Revlon Photoready Skinlights in Bare Light – As I am an oily skinned girl I have to get my glow on in ways that don’t make my skin look shiny and oily just lit from within. I remember this product being perfect for this! I used it underneath my foundation which made the glow look really natural but made me look alive instead of just matte and flat. I used this again the other day and it really is a little beaut, I’m not sure why it made its way to the back of my draw but it will definitely be going back into rotation. Another base products I have neglected is the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation – I purchased this as it was described as the oily girls dream so how could I not go for it? In summer I fell in love! It would last on my skin all day without moving or sliding off my face and staying pretty much matte till the end. This is a very matte foundation so I used in in conjunction with the Revlon Skinlights and it just added a subtle glow without it losing its staying power. I know that when it starts to get a bit warmer this will be my go to foundation.
To liven my face up I’ve rediscovered my Nars Adult Content Cheek Palette – This is a do it all palette, its got a natural blush a bright blush a highlighter and a brown blush that can be used as a bronzer and a highlighter. The reason I rediscovered this one is the thought of travel, I will be heading to Europe in January (A long way away yet I’m still excited) and as soon as I thought of this trip my mind immediately went to what makeup will I take?! This little bundle will be perfect! It’s got everything I need and I absolutely love the shade Deep Throat for everyday use and Desire for party time. Unfortunately this was a limited edition palette however, Nars are constantly coming out with cheek palettes and they are all amazing! Finally its a stunning lip colour, Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in 107 – I rediscovered this beauty from a little known youtuber called Zoella, you might not know her, she only has 8 millions followers (haha). She is a major fan of this lipstick and after seeing her wear this in so many videos I knew I had to bring this back for winter, it’s. This one is a brand spanking new tube, I seem to have misplaced my old one or used it up but boy oh boy am I glad I bought a new one! It’s the perfect winter shade of a deep red wine and even looks brilliant with my very pale skin winter skin.
So there are my most recent rediscovered products! Are there any products that you have rediscovered lately?

I don’t leave the house without a slick of mascara on my eyes, it just adds that oomph that makes me look alive and not a zombie. So today I though I would share with you my all time favourite mascaras!
First up is probably not a shock to anyone who has ever read this blog, I write about it all the bloody time! It’s the Covergirl Clump Crusher Extensions – This is a beautiful subtle mascara that literally separates every single lash and gives your lashes that real fanned out effect. It’s also perfect for layering up as the name suggests it does not clump. I would say that I use this mostly on day to day occasions but I know I will always have it in my stash. I have tried so many drugstore and high end mascaras and this is the only one that does not smudge on my lower lash line so no matter what I use on my top lashes, this little baby is going on the bottom lashes. Next up is Benefit Roller Lash – This has been a very hyped up product in the beauty world and for a good reason in my opinion. It’s a super dramatic mascara that really gives your lashes a full on curl and full on black lashes. At first I wasn’t the biggest fan as it was too wet and sort of clumped my lashes together but now I can’t get enough of the stuff! I’ve even got my Mum converted to it! I find this mascara super easy for when I am in a rush and just want something I can slick on my lashes in one coat and go. Now to the drugstore end it’s the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumising Mascara – This one is so cheap that It’s definitely worth having in your stash. Much like the Clump Crusher it really seperates every single lash leaving you with a doll eye effect, you get super long separated lashes which is my preffered look. Again I found this mascara a little bit wet to begin with but after I continued to use it and it dried out a little bit I do really love it. Next up is a new one to my collection it’s the Max Factor Masterpeice Transform Mascara – I definitely wasn’t sure about this one to begin with but boy have I changed my tune! It’s such a dramatic mascara that adds a butt load of volume and length as well as super black lashes, Once you get the hang of the wand you can seriously get a dramatic look out of this baby. Finally it’s the most hyped mascara launch I have ever seen Benefit They’re Real Mascara – I’m not usually one for hype and I end up getting things months after they come out but with this one I wanted it straight away! Although this mascara is a pain in the arse to get off it is just beautiful! It lengthens separates and with that little ball on the end you can really get in and cot ever single lash. I think this is about my third tube of this and I know I will go back for more!
So there you go my mascara must haves! What mascara are you loving at the moment?

As we all know eyebrows are key to any makeup look and I know that I never leave the hows without my brows on! Over the years I have tried many, many products but for the moment these are my absolute favourites.
First up is the Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Taupe – this really is a luxury brow product that I love! It has an angled tip with makes it really easy to fill in all the little gaps and it quite hard which means it is very hard to go too dark or too overboard. Next up is a definite bargain! It’s the Essence Eyebrow Designer in Brunette – This is seriously cheap and seriously good! Its a hard waxy pencil that just glides through the brows, it makes it really easy to use and I actually find myself reaching for this one more than my Tom Ford one. To set these pencils I use the Benefit Gimme Brow in Light – This is perfect to add a little oomph to the brows as well as setting them in place. I also use this by itself if i’m having a ‘no makeup makeup’ day. I don’t think I could live without this product to be honest but I also really want to try out the Loreal version of this. Finally is the Natio Brow Kit – This was my first foray into brow powders and i’m pretty sure its still my favourite. The powders are quite hard so it doesn’t end up all over your face and gives you really perfected brows. I often use this on a night out for when I really want my brows ‘on fleek’ (oh gosh I can’t believe I just said that!).
So there you go, my brow essentials! What do you use on your brows?

Favourites time! June has been and extremely busy month with lots of uni work and a major research paper due so I spent most of my month in my tracks locked to laptop. However, when I did venture out of my study cocoon these are the products I have been using and loving.
First up is a little product that I picked up in Singapore, I had heard Vivianna Does Makeup rave about this products so I knew I had to give it a try. It’s the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment – Now I love everything beauty but with my hair I am a complete shocker! I have no idea what I am doing so this little beaut saves me so much. I add a little dob to my hair and brush it through, I blow dry it and then walk out the door. It adds a brilliant amount of volume to my flat drab hair yet it also leaves it nice and smooth. I would recommend this to anyone who like me doesn’t really know what they’re doing with their hair or anyone who just wants to pop something in their hair and be done with it. Next up is my perfect base at the moment I use the Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturiser in light medium and the Cover Fx Custom Cover Drops in N20 – This base has enough coverage to disguise all the thing that I don’t want anyone to be seeing plus it feels nice and light on the skin. I have a whole post on why I love this combo as well as how I apply it here. The next product is fairly new to me. I asked a friend of mine to pick it up for me in Hawaii, now this friend is not obsessed with makeup and when she saw the price of this particular item I’m pretty sure she almost had a heart attack! I think I remember the world ‘it’s just a friggen eyeshadow!’, but I wanted it so I got it and I don’t regret it for a second. It’s the Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in 10 Senso – This is a beautiful dark brown shade with a little bit of warmth to it. It’s so easy to use I just swipe it over the lids and blend it out, simple as that! Finally its the Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara – I received this in the Autumn Edit of Marie Claire’s Parcel. I put off using it due to my ridiculously overflowing mascara collection, but I couldn’t resist it much longer I had to crack that baby open. Boy am I glad I did! This mascara is so dramatic, it adds bucket loads of volume whilst being extremely black it just a great mascara that gives you dramatic lashes with just a couple of swipes of the wand. Now I do find this very wet so I do wipe the excess product off just so all my lashes don’t completely clump together but other than that I think I’ve found a winner!
So there you go, my June Favourites! What were your favourites this month?
